A BBC Radio Manchester broadcaster has bestowed his pearls of wisdom on the next generation of the media.
Allan Beswick dropped in to Atherton Community School’s sixth form to spend an afternoon with students studying for their BTEC in media studies.
The students interviewed the Sony award winner about his life as a broadcaster and what it is like to work for the BBC.
He said: “Getting a career in the media is really challenging, and you have to start young, so it's refreshing to meet students who are prepared to put the work in already.
“The students asked me some really challenging questions and I hope I've been able to tell them what working on radio is really like. There's nothing glamorous about the early mornings. I was impressed by these students and wish them well.”
He also presented achievement awards to French and Spanish students.
