Man punched and kicked after trying to break up fight

A MAN was beaten unconscious after he tried to break up a fight in a Tyldesley pub.
The 57-year-old victim intervened in an altercation outside The Edge on Castle Street but was set upon by three men and a woman at 10.15pm on October 31.
The man was punched and kicked to the floor before being taken to hospital for treatment to numerous bruises and cuts that required stitches.
One of the men in the group that attacked him is described as wearing a black baggy cloak type Halloween costume. The three men and the woman are all described as white and in their early 20s.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Sergeant Neil Lawless said: "This man was brutally punched and kicked to the point he was knocked unconscious. He is recovering well however we want to identify the people that did this to him.
"We are looking to speak to anyone who was in the pub that night or anyone who saw the actual assault."
