FESTIVE spirit is being spread by the donation of food to disadvantaged and struggling people.
Wigan and Leigh Housing staff have been collecting food to give to people who are relying on the services and support of The Brick, a project which provides food parcels for people in severe financial hardship.
Tinned food, tea, coffee and biscuits, soap, toothpaste and shampoo were amongst the essentials donated and distributed.
Michelle Atherton, from Wigan and Leigh Housing’s financial support team, said: “As Christmas approaches resources at The Brick will become stretched as this is their busiest period so we thought it would be an ideal time to give something back.
“We were overwhelmed by the amount of donations made by staff from across the company and we know these items will help to make a real difference.”
