A MARTIAL arts instructor is celebrating after making it into a magazine’s hall of fame.

Russ Jarmesty has been an instructor for 18 years and currently teaches at the JMA Academy at Victoria Mill in Atherton.

He has won his place in the Martial Arts Illustrated Hall of Fame for the top instructor award.

The full-time academy teaches children from the age of four through to adults up to the age of 58 and runs ladies only self-defence classes.

Russ said: “It was a proud moment for myself and our students when I received notice of our induction into the hall of fame of the longest running martial arts magazine, which features who is who in the UK martial arts fraternity.”

Russ and other winners were inducted into the hall of fame at an event last month.
