A NEW Marks and Spencer Simply Food store has opened its doors to customers for the first time.

The 9,000 square foot store offers customers over 4,500 food and drink lines and a selection of flowers, cards and gift wrap and has brought 45 new jobs to Leigh.

A 70-seat M&S Café where customers can enjoy Fairtrade tea and coffee as well as delicious pastries and cakes also opened its door in the store on Wednesday, December 11.

Store Manager, Neil Muttock, said: “It was great to finally invite customers into the new store and show them what we have been working on for the past few months. The new store brings the quality and freshness of M&S food to shoppers in Leigh just in time for the festive season. We look forward to welcoming customers into the store over the weeks and months to come.”

The bakery at the new store at Parsonage Retail Park will offer a range of speciality breads, pastries and cakes, freshly baked each day.
