A PAIR of recently-retired twins managed to steal a £100,000 painting from under its owner's nose on national TV.
Sixty-five-year olds Joe and Tom Healey, from Bacup, were chosen to be the stars of Derren Brown’s The Great Art Robbery, which aired on Channel 4.
Illusionist Brown worked with the twins to help them grab the artwork in full view of a security guard and art collector Ivan Massow.
Brown’s show was aimed at challenging stereotypes of older people. Joe and Tom underwent six weeks of training for the trick. They were taught a series of confidence tricks by Brown which helped them prepare for the challenge of national TV.
