LEIGH Market has been lit up thanks to three councillors.
Leigh East representatives Clr Anita Thorpe, Clr Fred Walker and Clr Keith Cunliffe donated £1,000 from their Brighter Borough Fund for decorations.
Clr Thorpe said: "We wanted to do something to try to brighten up people's spirits who are suffering from the terrible cutbacks we have had to endure this year.
"The smiles on people’s faces when they saw the display were wonderful and we have had lots of positive feedback from the public about the display.
"We have agreed with the market manager Phil Edge, who helped with the display, that next year - if the money is available – to add more to the beautiful display.”
