GRAPHIC Design students at Wigan & Leigh College are amongst the most satisfied in the country.

A massive 91 per cent of the College’s Foundation Degree students were satisfied overall with their course, placing it amongst the most highly rated of similar colleges and universities.

The college is above the national average in the recent National Student Survey, coming in at an impressive 90 per cent in the eyes of its own students.

Preparing students for the world of work is what makes the college’s course so popular amongst students, and the course leader, former design house owner David Beattie, believes this is the key factor students should consider when choosing a course.

He said: “Our programme runs for two years and its ultimate goal is to get students industry trained with key employability skills. We consistently give students live briefs from clients in the area to give them experience of how the industry operates.

“I try not to spoon feed students, but instead encourage them to express their own ideas within their work to give the confidence necessary to succeed.”
