HYNDBURN MP Graham Jones has praised ‘awesome’ volunteers at a foodbank in Accrington.
The Labour MP for the borough and Haslingden visited Community Solutions North West, in Cannon Street, where he helped volunteers pack food parcels.
Mr Jones said in a series of tweets: “Awesome community response with around 40 volunteers helping out across rooms. The use of foodbanks under David Cameron has rocketed. Prices have risen faster than wages for 40 of the last 41 months.”
Community Solutions is a social enterprise, whose mission is to ‘empower local people to meet local needs within the communities of Lancashire and beyond; promoting interdependence, confidence and self-esteem.’ To donate, volunteer, or to find out more, visit www.csnw .co.uk.
