A FAMILY-run business in Leigh has defended its title as the best chippy in the North West.
Green Lane Chippy has been crowned Chippy of the Year 2013, in association with Holland’s Pies, with 6,662 votes from chip shop lovers across the area.
Owned by brothers Paul Georgiou and Andy Georgiou, who added a eat-in restaurant next door earlier this year, the chip shop has won the award for the second year running.
Paul Georgiou said: “We are so thankful to our loyal customers who have voted for us again this year; their continued support means so much to this local chip shop. We pride ourselves on our quality offering and believe that this is what keeps our customers coming back.”
