A TEENAGER who grew up in care has been putting her experiences to good use to help other children.
Lydia Naylor, from Tyldesley, has been working with Wigan Council to provide children in care with the support and guidance that aims to help them work towards a more positive future.
She helped to set up and became the chair of Voices for Choices, a youth council which represents children in care.
She said: “Being in care is not easy but working closely with the Voice and Engagement team has been very rewarding and I'm so grateful to them.
"I now plan to take my experiences and use them to help benefit people from other disadvantaged backgrounds.”
She is now studying psychology at university and won the All Round Inspirational Person Category at the Greater Manchester Care Leavers Awards.
