A STAND up comedian has embarked on writing a trilogy of an epic adventure – trying to find the right man.

Mum-of-three Lindsey Davies is busy promoting her first published book, Mr Wrong, while juggling being a screenplay writer and part-time saleswoman.

The first of her trilogy sees Roxy Hart share her search for Mr Right in a comical tale of heartbreak, disastrous dates and disappointments.

Lindsey, of Mersey Street, Leigh, said: “I started the book about five years ago after a break up and I realised a lot of my comedy was becoming about my relationship with men.

“I wrote a few chapters and my friends and family had told me it was funny and I should carry on.

“But then I got sidetracked because I went back to university so it ended up in a draw and at the back of my mind.

“It was only a few months ago that I found it again and sent a few chapters off to a publisher. They loved it and gave me a deadline to finish it by.

If only I had done it five years ago, who knows where I would be now.

“It is a reflection of my own life and there is always one essential flaw that stops Roxy being with the men that she meets.

Each chapter is named after the flaw that puts her off, so there is The Mummy’s Boy, The Narcissist and so on.”

The 36-year-old is a regular on the Manchester comedy scene and has already started work on her second book.

“I am writing the second instalment now but it is difficult to find the time with everything else that is going on but I am sure I will get it done,” she said.

Mr Wrong is available from Amazon and Waterstones.
