THE name of a worker who died in an accident at a disused factory has been released by police.
Stuart Thompson, 43, was killed in a ‘work-related’ incident at the site of the former Grampian Country Pork plant in Great Western Road, Buckie, last Monday, as the building was being dismantled.
Mr Thompson, who is believed to be from Bacup, died at the scene, Police Scotland said.
A force spokesman added: “Inquiries into the incident are at an early stage and police are working closely with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to establish the full circumstances.”
An HSE spokesman said: “We are investigating alongside police.”
