AFTER six broken engagements and two failed marriages, artist Susan Plover met her husband John on a blind date.
So you might say she knows a thing or two about love and relationships.
Susan is presenting six new pieces of work with a dark and humourous twist as part of her Love is in the Air, exhibition.
Susan, who lives in Leigh, said: “My art comes from personal experience.
“With six broken engagements and two ex-husbands in my wake you could say there have been a few frogs.
“I met my husband on a blind date in 1996 and can honestly recommend taking such chances as I am a perpetual hopeless romantic.”
Susan returned to art aged 54 and recently completed a fine art honours degree having originally studied in London in the 1970s.
Her latest work features pieces like ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Shotgun Wedding’ and ‘Love at First Sight’ Susan added: “I am fascinated by human relationships and tend to depict the domestic in a surreal manner. I view life through my work which often touches raw nerves and frequently acts as my personal therapy .
“I do however feel that despite the titles of some pieces there is a shred of hope in the final image, ‘Love is in the Air’ or ‘Above it all’ as I prefer to call it.”
- Love is in the Air is on at the Pyramid in Warrington until the end of February.
