A TEENAGER'S perseverance has seen her crowned the winner of a beauty pageant.
Danielle Whitehead, of William Street, Hindley, was crushed when she failed to place in the national pageant Miss Teen Great Britain last year - but that only made her more determined.
Last week she was crowned Miss Teen North West Beauty at a pageant in her home town of Hindley.
"I am absolutely thrilled, I nearly cried on stage because I was so shocked," the 17-year-old said. I am absolutely over the moon. I have worked so hard for it. After not placing in Miss Teen Great Britain, I thought to myself you've just got to keep going, there is no point in falling after the first hurdle and giving up.
"Just keep trying and you will succeed in the end."
The contest was held at the Rose Club on February 19 and raised £2,500 for Joining Jack.
