DALMATIANS, smurfs and Peter Pan were just a few of the costumes donned to celebrate World Book Day yesterday.

Staff at Leigh Library got out their spotty onesies for a 101 Dalmatians themed day for schoolchildren who attended dressed as their favourite characters.

They took part in a competition and got to meet Cruella De Vil.

Even the head teacher at Westleigh High School dressed as one of the Three Musketeers while students’ costumes included Mr Fox, Dr Who, Big Bird.
