YOUNG music fans were treated to an assembly with a difference when singing sensation Martika LA took to the stage.

Year 7 students and primary school pupils from Leigh St Peter’s packed into the hall at Bedford High School for the special one-off performance from the rising star.

After wowing the crowd with her debut single Give Me Your Love, the London-based performer gave her young fans the chance to sing onstage with her.

Head teacher Helen Phillips said: “This was another great event which aimed to reward and celebrate the achievements of our youngest students. It was also a chance for children from nearby primary schools to come in and get to know our school in an informal and enjoyable atmosphere.

“We believe in helping our young people to connect with their role models. It helps them to learn about how hard performers must work to become successful.”
