AS part of his training for the London Marathon, Leigh MP Andy Burnham ran from his home to watch Everton beat Cardiff City.
The Shadow Secretary of State for Health ran the 16.2 miles from his Leigh home to Goodison Park on March 15 to watch his team win 2-1.
Mr Burnham was joined by Walton MP Steve Rotherham, Everton in the Community staff John Howard and Stephen Raynor and Club season-ticket holder Steven Finn for the warm up before April’s marathon.
“This is not my usual matchday routine, it is a much healthier one. I have run from home and I’m here at Goodison. It is a great feeling,” said Mr Burnham.
It took the group just over two hours and 30 minutes to reach the ground before Mr Burnham took up his usual seat to watch the match.
