SINGING workshops for people who have been diagnosed with dementia and their carers will launch in Leigh next week.
Hosted by As in Eden C.I.C and led by singers from a community choir, the Memorable Melodies workshops will be fun and informal.
The sessions will be held 14 Walmesley Road (formerly the Print Workshop) from 1pm until 2.30pm from April 7 for six months.
Jan Harney from As in Eden C.I.C said: "Music is evocative. It unlocks memories and brings people together in a shared experience. Singing is particularly good for your health; it boosts happiness and increases the feel-good factor.
"We’ll build a repertoire as we go along and incorporate your favourite songs. You don’t need to have a great voice."
To book call 01942 269187, 07811 764355 or email Jan at jan@asineden.co.uk.
