A COMMUNITY fun day is being held as part of a Tyldesley school’s 50th year celebrations.
Fred Longworth High School is hosting the event on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5, between 11.30am and 4.30pm.
The school was officially opened on March 7, 1964, by Sir Fred Longworth and the event is part of the celebrations to mark the occasion.
There will be live music from local bands, performances from the Nowt2Do Dancers and Tyldesley Marionettes, while radio station Pulstar will also be broadcasting.
There will also be a funfair, firework display, bouncy slides, zorbing, plate smashing, Tyldesley Rugby Club and Cheeky Chimps play bus, a food zone and The Union Beer Tent.
Hindsford Football Club and the fire service will also be attending.
