PRIMARY school pupils are getting ready for a sporting adventure in the Lake District.
Over the first weekend in July, 40 Year 5 and 6 children from 10 primary schools will take part in team and individual events at Low Bank Ground Education Centre and they met-up for a pre event rundown.
The Atherton and Tyldesley School Sports Association event backed by Safe-Elec-UK will feature kayaking, orienteering and running with two boys and two girls representing each school.
This week pupils were given a taste of orienteering when they got together for the briefing at St George’s Central School in Tyldesley.
Stuart Protano of Safe-Elec-UK is pictured with some of the competitors and St George’s head and ATSA lead teacher Mark Grogan.
He said: “I am honoured to be involved in supporting and promoting sporting opportunities for children.”
