CURIOUS critters, bushtucker trials and all the fun of the fair are just some of the attractions at next month’s Atherton Carnival.

The event takes place on Sunday, June 22 at Meadowbank playing fields which are just a short walk from the town centre.

Vintage vehicles, bands, school pupils representing countries participating in this year’s football World Cup and Adjay Lees’ Minions will take part in the parade which begins at 12pm.

A fairground, rides and amusements plus games, singers, dancers, music from DJ Kenny, stalls, refreshments and Danny Jubb’s oddball animals will be there.

There will be the opportunity to enjoy a pony ride and the Wacky Warehouse gang will be mixing with the crowd with many trying their hand at sports and games.

“The Carnival is a day for everyone to enjoy, so make sure you’re there!” said Carnival committee member Catherine Lane encouragingly.
