A PROJECT is on the hunt for the next Lewis Hamilton.
The Blair Project, based in Atherton, has launched a national competition to give three young racers from less wealthy families the chance to win a fully funded season.
The grassroots organization, which aims to help budding drivers from poorer backgrounds, is asking racers aged between 10 and 18 to upload a two minute YouTube video explaining why they should be chosen to become the next rising star in motor racing by Friday.
The public can then vote for the winner between June 9 and 27 on the project’s Facebook page.
CEO Nile Henry, who was inspired by his 17-year-old brother Blair to start the project, said: “The word has spread, and we are being inundated with applicants, some of whom are as young as 10. They all have heartwarming tales to tell.”
The three winners will be announced on July 1 and will compete in a series relevant to them in the 2014/2015 season.
