YOUNG people from the borough are embarking on a new challenge.

As part of National Citizen Service’s The Challenge, 180 15-to-17-year olds will take part in a number of activities to develop their teamwork, leadership, communication and social skills.

The programme will encourage them to engage with their community and meet new people from different backgrounds as well as build relations withl charities, including Wigan and Leigh People First.

In September the young people will also design and carry out sponsorship and campaign projects as well as take part in social action projects requested by partner charities.
