SCARECROWS took over an Atherton estate at the weekend.
Residents of North Croft made the imaginatively-themed figures in the hopes of being crowned the winner of a scarecrow competition.
The scarecrows were judged by Clr Karen Aldred and her two children Martin and Chloe, with a figure of Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Carribean films winning first place and an army soldier coming in second.
Clr Aldred said: “It was so difficult to choose, as all entries were brilliant well done to all.
“It was an honour to judge this event and it was great fun with brilliant community involvement.”
The judging was followed by a barbecue for residents.
