YOUNG carers from Leigh and Wigan have descended on Blackpool Pleasure Beach thanks to a Leigh-based housing provider.
More than 40 youngsters and volunteers visited the theme park which is home to the UK’s tallest and fastest roller coaster The Big One.
The Friends of Young Carers (FOYC) charity was able to organise the day thanks to a £1,000 grant from Adactus Housing Association (AHA)’s community grant scheme, the Neighbourhood Fund.
Lindsay Greenhalgh, neighbourhood development officer at AHA said: “We are delighted to support such a fantastic charity.
“FOYC provide a vital service to young carers and their families. The activities and support they offer has such a positive impact on so many people’s lives.”
