A YOUTH football team has been given £200 by a supermarket as a thank you for helping to pack bags in the store.
Leigh Community FC spent an afternoon at the Tesco Extra store on Derby Street, Leigh, helping customers in a bid to raise money for their team.
They are one of four groups alongside Leigh Lions under 16s, Leigh East ARLFC and Bolton Society for Blind People who were given a donation to kick-start their fundraising.
Emma Robinson, from the football clubLeigh Community FC, said: “I’d like to thank Tesco for the opportunity to fundraise in store and for the generous donation. As well as being a fun bag packing day, this will help fund equipment and training facilities.”
