A SCHOOL reunion has helped a Hindley woman raise £1,500 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
Linda Byrne, from Hindley, organised a reunion for anyone who attended Cardinal Newman Secondary School in Hindley during the 33 years it operated.
Linda sold 250 tickets for the reunion at Madisen Hall in Hindley, which took place on October 18, and said: “The school was open from 1959 until 1992 and I opened it up to anyone who attended so we had a great mix of people.
“I didn’t think I would get that many people wanting tickets but I could have sold another 100 so next time I’m going to book another venue.”
Linda also raised £240 at the hospice’s Christmas fair.
