HUNDREDS of diazepam tablets have been seized from an address in Leigh.
Police executed a warrant at the address on Briar Grove and found more than 800 diazepam tablets and a quantity of cocaine at around 9.15pm yesterday, Thursday.
Officers seized the drugs and arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of possessing diazepam with intent to supply and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of possessing cocaine.
PC Paul O’Donnell said: “Hopefully this will send out a reassuring message to everyone on how committed we are to robustly clamping down on unlawful drug dealing and possession in the borough.
“The information which led to the warrant largely came from members of the public and I would like to stress just how important community generated intelligence is to the police.
“We are extremely grateful for information that is reported to us by the local community and we will always look to act on it and take positive action.”
