FIREFIGHTERS have been praised for their hard work.
Bolton West MP Julie Hilling visited Atherton Fire Station along with Shadow Fire and Communities Minister Lyn Brown MP.
They joined Atherton’s White Watch crew and area manager Geoff Harris to talk about Labour’s plans for the fire service and how the service can be improved overall.
Ms Hilling said: “Being a resident of Atherton it was great to meet the wonderful fire crew who are there protect us in the event of an emergency.
“Our fire fighters do a brilliant job and we’re extremely grateful for the risks they take to save lives in our local area.”
“The fire service under David Cameron and George Osborne has been hit hard by devastating cuts to the service.
“I will be working with my front bench colleagues to ensure a future Labour Government does all it can to protect this vital public service.”
