RESIDENTS have been learning about Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘Time to Choose’ campaign.
Leigh MP Andy Burnham MP joined residents in finding out more about the campaign on when the charity’s campaign bus visited Bradshawgate on Saturday.
Macmillan is calling on all political parties to commit to taking action on cancer ahead of this year’s general election and to commit to early diagnosis, health services that ensure all patients are treated with the highest levels of dignity and respect.
Mr Burnham MP said: “I have the highest regard for Macmillan and the work they do to support families in our area.
“It was great to welcome their campaign bus to Leigh and speak to local people who have benefited from their work. I have no hesitation in signing up to their proposals to improve cancer and end of life care”.
During the visit, Macmillan representatives spoke to people about the issues they want to see the next government address and gave them the opportunity to be photographed supporting the campaign.
Their pictures and thousands of others from around the country can be seen on the online gallery at timetochoose.org.uk.
