THE ‘Northern Kick’ has spoken of his hope of becoming a music chart success story ahead of his band’s new release.

Teenage Stereo Kicks star Reece Bibby said the group’s upcoming first single, Love Me So, will show the world what they’re capable of.

The 16-year-old, from Accrington, told the Lancashire Telegraph yesterday: “People would expect us to come out with another boy band pop tune, but it’s the exact opposite.

“People will be very surprised when they hear it. It’s very grown up and mature for the band, without giving everything away, and we will impress a lot of people.”

The eight-piece band, who shot to fame during last year’s hit ITV show The X Factor, have been touring the UK since finishing an X Factor tour alongside the other finalists.

Reece, who took a year off from his studies at St Christopher’s High School to compete in the show, said: “We came off the X Factor tour, which was amazing but fans were there for everyone.

“But this time it was our dedicated fans. They have been waiting outside our hotel and they scream so loud when we’re on stage.

“It has been crazy.”

The band has signed a deal with James Grant, a talent management firm, which will see the singles release into the charts.

Fans – or ‘Stereo Kickers’ – who have attended gigs have exclusively heard the track, with the hashtag #LoveMeSo trending worldwide on Twitter.

Reece said: “We are releasing the single soon, which will hopefully open new doors and we can move on to bigger and better things.”

And although Reece remained tight-lipped about a music video shoot for the new single, the band has offered their legion of fans the chance to get involved with its recording.

The band wrote online: “Welcome to our brand new fan club right here on Buddybounce. To celebrate, we’re giving you the chance to be at our first ever music video for Love Me So.

“Simply join the fan club and share the link with as many fans as you can.”
