Now the 13-year-old has voiced her determination to forge a career on one of the toughest stages of them all.

Macy, who lives in Oswaldtwistle with mum and dad Amanda and Wayne, and brothers Ethan, 15, and Reeve, two, said: “When I was younger I used to dream about being a movie star and going to different places to act.

“Now I really want to be an actor on Broadway. I just like singing and acting, and I have got a lot of confidence.”

Although soap bosses are remaining tight-lipped about the storyline Macy is involved in, her cameo sees her take up a role she should be fairly familiar with – a schoolgirl.

Macy will be part of a crowd of youngsters huddled together in a playground.

She is also a regular on the BAFTA-nominated CBBC series 4 O’Clock Club and has performed in a pantomime held at the Civic Arts Centre and Theatre, in Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.

Macy has been attending the Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in Bury since she was nine, following in the footsteps of Bacup’s own Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown on Corrie.

Some of the acting school’s other successes are former Blackburn schoolgirl Helen Flanagan, Burnley’s Waterloo Road actor Lucien Laviscount, and Rawtenstall’s Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Natalie Casey.

Macy’s head teacher, Xavier Bowers said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Macy. She manages her school work and her commitments really well.”
