A MAN suffered a facial fracture after being allegedly attacked with a hammer in Accrington.

Police said that the 34-year-old victim was kicked, punched and stamped on by four people at around 2.25am on Wednesday in Willows Lane.

He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a fracture around his left eye and for cuts and bruising sustained across his body.

DS Steve Acres from Blackburn CID said: “It is fortunate that the victim was not more seriously injured and I would urge anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch with me immediately on 01254 353 561.”
