EAST Lancashire singing sensation Reece Bibby is set to join a new band just weeks after leaving Stereo Kicks.

The 17-year-old of Accrington will link up with 15-year-old Blake Richardson and 16-year-old George Smith, who have been hinting at the link up on social media but have yet to announce the news officially.

A source close to the singer said: “This is extremely big, bigger than what he was doing before. This has always been in the pipeline.

“He was never completely happy with what he was doing. The mix of Stereo Kicks was never quite right, and he could not really be himself because there were some colourful characters in there.

“The people he is with now are very similar to Reece and are in it for the music and not for the fame.

“It will all be officially announced soon. The only reason it hasn’t been yet is because they are stuck for a name.

“He has been signed by Prestige Management, who are the same team behind the Vamps and McFly.”

Reece, who formed one eighth of the band before its break up in July, tweeted recently: “I can’t tell you all very much at the minute.

“What I can tell you is I’m not going solo.”

He later added: “Can’t wait for it all to be. Not too long now until I can let you know what I’m up to.”

The singer, who is dating Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais, performed as a solo artist during the auditions stage of The X Factor in 2014, before being merged into a group by the judges along with Chris Leonard, Barclay Beales, Charlie Jones, Jake Sims, Casey Johnson, Tom Mann, and James Graham.

Former panellist Louis Walsh then put the boys through to the live shows, where they stayed until they were kicked out after a sing-off with Lauren Platt in week eight.

Reece’s dad Jamie told the Lancashire Telegraph a duet with former Oasis frontman Noel could also be on the cards in the near future.

He said: “Noel loves him. He will be joining up with him pretty soon.

“For Reece’s 17th birthday, they gave him an original billboard poster for the movie Wonderwall that inspired the song.”

Any collaboration would see Reece complete a rare double after performing an impromptu gig with his idol Liam Gallagher — Noel’s brother — in Accrington two years ago.
