THE body of a 48-year-old man has been found in Warrington.

Shaun Kelly, who lived near Lilford Park in Leigh, was found dead in Bent Lane, Culcheth.

The father-of-three went missing after his red Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a bus in Holcroft Lane in Culcheth on Wednesday last week.

The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but was later said to be in a stable condition.

Police launched an appeal to find Mr Kelly, who was a joinery tutor, after it was believed he left his car and walked off into nearby fields following the crash.

His body was found four days later.

A police spokesperson said that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and he did not die from injuries sustained in the crash.

Following his death tributes were made on Facebook to Mr Kelly.

Paul Pritchard wrote: "R.I.P Shaun, a true legend, whose passion for teaching was infectious. Not always conventional in his methods, but always had the learners he taught at the centre of his thinking. Loved working with you Shaun, college is never going to be the same again."

From the tributes it has also been clear to see Mr Kelly had a big impact on the lives of those he only knew for a short time.

Alex Kinder said: "I only knew his man for a few weeks but his passing has shaken me. He was a passionate man and always had a smile on his face! RIP."

Zachary Devlin posted: "Though I didn't know Shaun for too long, or even too well, it was clear as day how great of a person he was. Funny, smart, kind and most particularly, he cared. RIP."

Emma Louise added: "Shaun was a wonderful man, husband and father with a wonderful loving family."

Shaun was a keen footballer and friends who shared the pitch with him have also paid their respects.

Jake Dearden said: "I can't believe it. Shaun was an amazing man, I used to play football on a Wednesday night with him. He was a guy that never stopped trying for himself and people around him.

"A great team player and a great mate. He was a good man and a good role model. I looked up to him. I hope his family is alright, he has gone to a better place now. RIP Shaun Kelly, A Hero."
