A TEENAGE boy has died after a being hit by a car in Golborne.

At around 9pm on Saturday November 14, the 16-year-old was crossing Nook Lane near to the junction of Derby Road in Golborne, when he was involved in a collision with a Range Rover Evoque traveling along the road.

The boy was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

The 32-year-old driver of the Land Rover was not detained.

Nook Lane was closed for around six hours while the SCIU carried out their investigations.

Constable Paul Shore said: “We need anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or perhaps saw what happened to contact us so we can try and ascertain the exact circumstances of this collision.”
