TWO fire crews were called to a moorland blaze near Edna Road in Leigh yesterday, Wednesday.
Firefighters from Leigh and Hindley were called at around 2pm to the incident which was described as ‘some distance from the roadway’.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters proceeded to the scene on foot as it was some distance from the roadway.
“Crews used beaters to put out the fire.”
