A MAN has been taken to hospital after been released from a heavy goods vehicle.

Firefighters attended the man, who was trapped by the hand for 30 minutes in the vehicle, in Park Road Industrial Estate.

John Hamer, of Bacup fire station, said: “There was an ambulance, pumps from Rawtenstall and Bacup, and supervisory officers at the incident.

“The gentleman was trapped by the hand in the crevice of the heavy goods vehicle.

“He was released from a skip at the back.

“We were called at 3.20pm by a company on the Park Road Estate.

“He was released after 30 minutes and then went to hospital.”
