GRAB your sun cream and sunglasses - summer is finally here.

Forecasters are predicting temperatures will be up to 26 degrees later today while tomorrow, Tuesday, the thermometer could creep up to a sweaty 32 degrees.

But sadly the heatwave is not expected to last long this week.

A Met Office spokesman added the outlook for Wednesday to Friday includes heavy, thundery downpours.

He added: "It should clear to leave a warm day with sunny spells.

"Sunny spells Thursday, sunshine and showers on Friday. Staying warm but with maximum temperatures of 20 degrees."
