AN Atherton woman has helped Bents Garden and Home win a best show design award at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.

Becky Sydenham, 25, of Greenfield Road, is the nursery supervisor at the Glazebury gardening centre and took her inspiration for the marquee display from an English Country Garden.

The 25-year-old hopes that her display, which was open to the public over the weekend, has encouraged more people to create beautiful spaces in their gardens Becky, who is also responsible for Bents winning the Silver Guild award at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show said: “It was a great event with everyone having a look at what we had on offer and it was an honour to showcase our work at such an event.

“My favourite part was setting up the marquee, it is so much fun putting all the designs out there for everyone to see and seeing the work you have done finally set up.

“All the items we used and the plants can also be bought at Bents so people can copy our designs and decorate their own back gardens.”

The marquee set our four corners with different design ideas for small gardens displays focusing on what can be done with tiny unloved areas out outdoor space.

Becky has been working at Bents since she went on school work experience and has been as the centre ever since.

She added: “I love what I do and I love being able to create designs for others to enjoy.

“I hope it highlights to people that anyone can have a beautiful garden no matter the size of the space they have.”

The Bents marquee also provided entertainment for children with planting activities and face painting at the RHS Flower Show last weekend.
