POLICE are appealing for information on an armed robbery after a man was assaulted and money from a cash box was stolen from an Atherton Shop.
The incident occurred at the McColl’s newsagents on Car Bank Street shortly after 9.30am on Saturday, July 23.
This is the second attack on the shop in just over a month after two armed robbers brandishing a kitchen knife and a metal bar threatened staff at an Atherton shop on June 7.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information to come forward and tell police.”
Anybody with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
