BAKERY bosses are closing one of their town centre store due to change in customer traffic.
Waterfield’s bakery on Bradshawgate, Leigh, will close its doors on Saturday, siting 'a change in trading pattern' as the cause.
The staff from the store have been offered jobs within the bakery chain’s two other shops in the town.
The Bradshawgate branch was one of the first shops that was opened by Albert Waterfield just after the business was founded in 1926.
Richard Waterfield, chairman of the brand, said: “We want to let people know that we are not leaving the area but a change in trading pattern has meant that we will be utilising our other two stores more and closing the one on Bradshawgate."
