THE heartbroken daughters of a mum who was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband have paid an emotional tribute to the 'beautiful and selfless' 42-year-old woman after their lives were ripped apart.

Mandy Gallear suffered stab wounds to the chest at the marital home on Makinson Avenue, Hindley, last Thursday.

Her 51-year-old husband Stuart has been charged with murdering Mrs Gallear and appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.

There will be a plea and trial preparation hearing on December 19 and a murder trial has been pencilled in for April 3.

Mrs Gallear's two daughters Amy, 16, and Katy, 14, paid tribute to their mum following her death.

In a joint statement the sisters said: “Our mum was a sister, aunt and friend to many, but first and foremost she was a mother and best friend to us.

“She adored us and we adored her.

“Mum was loved immensely and gave that love back to her family and friends with all her heart.

“Words cannot describe how much we will miss her.

“She worked hard to provide a happy and loving home for us and it is hard to believe that she will no longer be here to guide us, nurture us and will not benefit from seeing what a credit we will be to her.

“Mum was a beautiful and selfless woman and our family has been ripped apart by her death.

“We would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and would ask for privacy during this tragic time.“ Police were called at 3.45pm last Thursday and discovered Mrs Gallear had been stabbed.

She was taken to hospital but she later died.

Mr Gallear was charged with murder last Friday night.

Friends and wellwishers have offered the family support on social media.
