THE Deal in Action is coming to Atherton next week to encourage residents to get involved in community activities.

The week of action takes place from Monday, October 31, to Friday, November 4, and offers residents an ideal opportunity to find out about ways they can help to improve the town.

There will be a Have Your Say session at Atherton Community School from 5.30pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 3, with Wigan Council bosses Donna Hall and Lord Peter Smith answering questions and responding to feedback from residents about The Deal and community issues.

There will also be an Incredible Edible harvest day held at St Philip’s CE Primary School from 3pm on Tuesday, November 1, with recipes books inspired by ingredients the pupils grow in their allotment up for sale.

The council will provide residents with information about community groups, recycling and volunteering throughout the week.

Then on Tuesday, November 15, there will be a second Have Your Say session for residents to attend, focusing on planning concerns in the community.
