A COLLECTION of First World War stories and poems have been published by a Tyldesley writing group.
Reflections on The Great War is Tyldesley Creative Writers' second anthology.
The group held a book launch event at Leigh Library in the Turnpike Centre, with members reading out loud some of their poems and stories reflecting on their thoughts on the First World War and its ultimate effect.
The book launch was organised by Jane Huxley and the project was funded by Wigan Council and The Deal for Armed Forces WW1 Commemorative Fund.
All proceeds from the sale of the book, which was collated and designed by Irena Gillette, has gone to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Group member Earle Law presented a cheque for £500 to John Lemon, chairman of the Tyldesley branch of the Royal British Legion.
