A SALESMAN receiving positive reviews for his debut book says his career has 'opened his eyes to the world' and changed the racist views he developed from his childhood.

Craig Faulkner has written about his life as a salesman in both the UK and India and revealed numerous tips to help others in Secrets of a Sales Master.

Released on February 9, the book is based on his 10 years of sales experience and Craig is delighted it has been warmly received on social media.

The 35-year-old dad-of-two from Leigh has extensive experience of the service trucks and debt management industries and travelled across India to deliver presentations to businesses for two-and-a-half years from 2013.

He credits two Indian women he trained on a sales course in 2011 to him changing his views on people from different ethnic backgrounds.

Craig said: “Through my childhood I hold my hands up and say I had racist views.

“When I met two women on a sales course, Zahra and Anum, my views changed as they are such lovely people.

"They are nieces of a life coach called Arfeen Khan. He asked me to work with him on sales seminars across India, which opened my eyes to the world and changed my opinions.

“My inspiration to write a book actually came from Arfeen.

"When we first spoke on the phone he said it would be a great idea for me to write a book as it would make me realise how much I know about sales and influence.”

Craig has lived in Leigh all his life and has been married to his wife Sarah Jane for nine years.

Following the release of his book he has had offers to carry out sales training from marketing companies.
