A MAN from Leigh has been given a six-month prison sentence suspended for a year after admitting possessing a five-inch hunting knife in a public place.
Carl Crosby, of Hope Carr Lane, appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
The 54-year-old admitted carrying the knife at Parsonage Retail Park on August 14.
As well as being handed a suspended prison sentence Crosby was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £115 victim services surcharge.
