LEIGH Ornithological Society is hosting a presentation about bird and wildlife watching around the UK on Friday.

The presentation by Stephen Culley is called My Family and Other Animals: Birding in Blighty.

It will take place in the Derby Room on the first floor of Leigh Library from 7.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend for free but a small donation to the society from non-members would be gratefully received.

The society has also organised a trip to Leighton Moss and possibly Sizergh Castle on Sunday.

The meeting place is Doctors Nook Car Park opposite the library at 7am.

Participants should come prepared for wet and cold weather and bring sufficient food and hot beverages to last the day.

Non-Royal Society for the Protection of Birds members may have to pay an entry fee at Leighton Moss.

Anyone interested in going on the trip should contact society secretary Angela Pike on 07816 178582. Car sharing is available.
