A POSTMAN claims he has been attacked by a dog close to a nursery.

Police are appealing for the two men the postman says were walking the black and white collie on a lead to come forward.

He alleges that the dog repeatedly lunged at him and bit his stomach in a side street off Kirkham Road, Leigh, at around 11.30am last Thursday.

After the alleged attack near to the First Steps Private Day Nursery the postman claims the two dog walkers refused to give him their contact details and walked off.

He describes one of the men as around 50 years old, 5ft 10ins with a Newcastle accent. He says he was wearing a blue waterproof coat and trousers and had his hood up, and it is believed that he may live in Hindsford.

The second man is also described as being around 50. The postman says he was wearing glasses and waterproof clothes.
